Dennis E. ‘Denny’ McCrory

LEWISTOWN – Dennis E. ‘Denny’ McCrory, 79 years, of Terrace Boulevard, died Thursday Jan 2, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Lewistown the son of the late John and Alice (Bowers) McCrory.

Denny is survived by: his daughter Kenda Gardner and husband, Jay; his grandchildren Jared and Megan; brother and sister, Samuel McCrory and wife, Barbara, of Mechanicsburg, Marley Shingler and husband, Robert, of Indiana.

Denny was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers, Shirley Lantz, Donald, John, Bill, and James McCrory.

He worked at SKF Plant in Shippensburg and retired at JC Penney’s in Burnham. Denny was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Danville Rod and Gun Club and the City Fire Company.

Denny enjoyed playing cards with friends and games with his grandchildren. His other hobby was helping others never turning his back on a person in need.

His services will be Monday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Barr Funeral Home, Inc, 120 Logan Street with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in the Lind Memorial Cemetery. A Viewing will be from 9:30 till time of services at the funeral home.
