Sharon G. Solava

LEWISTOWN – Sharon G. Solava, 66, of Reedsville, died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born on Oct. 19, 1947, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Marion (Williamson) Barnett.

She is survived by: her husband, William L. Solava, whom she married on Aug. 17. 1968; daughters, Tara Deitrich and husband, Craig, of Bellefonte, and Shanon Reid and husband, Corey, of Lancaster; half brother, Kelly Barnett, of Champion, Ohio; a cousin, who was raised as a sister, and best friend, Sandra Deiter and husband, Ron, of Reedsville; and a granddaughter who was ‘the light of her life,’ Gabrielle Rose Deitrich.

She had been employed predominantly as a medical secretary but the job she liked best was as a homemaker and mother.

During her career, Sharon had been employed by the Mifflin County School District, Fisher Electronics, Philip Wolf and Sons, Dr. Betsy Eggler, Dr. Pratibha Vakharia and Joyner Sports Medicine.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville, with the Rev. Pat Roller officiating.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
