Marvin L. ‘Luckie’ Dillman
LEWISTOWN – Marvin L. “Luckie” Dillman, 86, of Milroy, died at 7:41 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter – William Penn, in Lewistown.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Freeburg, he was the son of the late George K. and Dora M. (Miller) Dillman.
He is survived by: his wife, Ethel M. (Sheriff) Dillman, whom he married on July 4, 1975; his children, Marvin L. Dillman Jr., of Wisconsin, Areta Baumgardner and husband, Bob, of Lewistown, Nancy Ferster and husband, Dennis, of Richfield, Dorine Dillman Howell and husband, Daniel, of Thompsontown, Joseph Dillman and fiancee, Wendy Gregg, of Thompsontown, and Tammy Cherry and husband, Charles, of Lewistown; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchild- ren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Sandra Naylor and Kathryn Folk; a nephew, Merle C. “Micky” Dillman Jr.; a grandson, Mark Folk; his brothers, Merle C. Dillman Sr. and Melvin Miller; and a sister, Lorraine McKinnon.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army and then was a machinist at Standard Steel in Burnham for more than 20 years, retiring in 1984.
He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and working on Volkswagens.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Ronald Shoop officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, with graveside military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
