Jacob C. ‘Jake’ Kling
SHIPPENSBURG – Jacob C. “Jake” Kling, 82, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on May 3, 1931, in Lewistown, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kling. Jake married Ms. Doris B. Furry on Dec. 30, 1973.
Many years ago, Jake worked as a janitor at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot and also then was employed at the Beistle Company, in Shippensburg, where he worked as an expediter.
Jake was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. He loved animals, especially his two little dogs. Jake also liked to tinker around, doing woodwork in his shed.
He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Doris; two sisters, Edith Yocum, of Lewistown, and Mildred Fortney, of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Edward Kling, of Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Kling.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
