Alan R. ‘Chip’ Hartley
GRANVILLE – Alan R. “Chip” Hartley, 62, of Miller Lane, Granville, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 23, 1951, in Lewistown, the son of the late Ray and Miriam (Shatzer) Hartley. Alan is survived by his companion, Pat Shontz.
Also surviving are: a son, Shawn Hartley and girlfriend, Sue, of Penn’s Creek; a brother, Jeff Hartley and wife, Nancy, of Belleville; and grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle, in 1976.
Alan was owner and operator of Hartley’s Upholstery for 32 years. He also worked at Lowe’s. He was a member of the Maitland Church of the Brethren.
Alan enjoyed baking, wood workings, classic cars and vacationing at Cape May.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Charles Eldridge officiating. Interment will be in Mount Rock Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
