Phyllis J. Riley
LEWISTOWN – Phyllis J. Riley, 73, of Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, in the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital emergency room.
She was born on June 7, 1940, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Merle L. and Genevieve L. (Cummings) McCalips Sr.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Clifford Riley, whom she married on Oct. 18, 1975.
She is also survived by: a brother, Merle L. McCalips Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Boalsburg; and two nieces, Rosanna K. McCalips, of McLean, Va., and Angela E. Kempf, of State College.
Phyllis retired from the Lewistown Hospital after 42 years as a CRNA in the hospital’s operating room.
She was a member of Chief Logan High School’s Class of 1958 and the Lewistown Hospital’s School of Nursing Class of 1961. She also graduated from Harrisburg’s School of Anesthesia with her CRNA.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Eugene McCallips officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
A private interment will be at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
