Lawrence S. Dressler

MILLERSTOWN – Lawrence S. Dressler, 80, of Millerstown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at his residence.

He was the husband of Shirley A. (Zeigler) Dressler to whom he was married for 62 years. Lawrence was born on Sept. 24, 1933, in Lewistown, a son of the late John E. and Viola P. (Davis) Dressler.

He retired from Protection Services Incorporated, Harrisburg. Mr. Dressler enjoyed hunting, going to flea markets and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: seven children, Joe Dressler and wife, Beverly, and Roger Dressler and wife, Renita, all of Millerstown, Jack Dressler and wife, Deb, of Newport, Kathy Kurtz and husband, Steve, of Pine Grove, Debbie Brinton and her fiance, Dennis Despeaux, of Nottingham, Steve Dressler and wife, Tresa, of Liverpool, and Barbara White and husband, Dean, of Lancaster; his brother-in-law with whom he raised, Richard Ranck and wife, Becky, of Harrisburg; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Samuel Dressler, of McAlisterville, Ceylon “Dick” Dressler and his wife, Betty, of Harrisburg, Paul Dressler and his wife, Mary Jane, of Mifflintown, Esther Henry, of Mifflintown, Helen McNemar, of Van Dyke, and Annabelle Gordon and her husband, Ron, of McAlisterville; and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by: a grandson, Matthew C. Dressler; a stepgrandson, Jason McNaughton; two brothers, Kenneth Dressler and Simon Dressler; and a sister, Ruth Goodling.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Dressler’s Ridge United Methodist Church, 4180 Dressler Ridge Road, Mount Pleasant Mills. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church with Pastor Warren Peachey officiating assisted by Pastor Wayne Kerstetter.

Burial will be made in the adjoining church cemetery.
