Doyle E. Stumpff

BELLEVILLE – Doyle E. Stumpff, 81, of Belleville, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, of an extended illness.

Born Feb. 15, 1932, he was a son of the late J. Clayton and Elsie M. (Wagner) Stumpff.

He was also preceded in death by: an infant son in 1959; a brother, Marlin W. Stumpff in 1991; and a son-in-law, W. Richie Kratzer in 2012.

He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Doris P. (Stuck) Stumpff; his children, Arlene L. Shirk and husband, Robert, of Hesston, Pamela J. Hunter and husband, C. Richard, of Burnham, Edward C. Stumpff and wife, Lori Ellen (Knepp), of Belleville, Annette L. Kratzer, of Mifflintown, and Janette P. Bulick and husband, John, of Allensville; five grandchildren, Michelle R. Groce, Richard A. Hunter, Brandon L. Fohringer, Molly C. Stumpff and Clayton E. Stumpff; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher L. Groce and Katrina M. Groce.

Doyle retired after 40 years of service from the press and shear department at New Holland in Belleville. He was a founding member of the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club, a member of the Professional Car Society and a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He enjoyed collecting antiques and automobiles.

A funeral service will be held in his memory at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Tom Morningstar officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. His family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
