DOROTHY F. ‘DOE’ SWAB
MIFFLINTOWN – Dorothy F. “Doe” Swab, 73, of Mifflintown, died at 4:14 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at her home.
Born July 5, 1940, in Port Royal, Juniata County she was a daughter of the late Fred C. and Margaret E. (Vawn) Wagner.
Surviving are her children, Lydia D. Beward and her husband, Johnny, of Mifflintown, Larry A. Swab, Jr., of Port Royal, Brenda K. Fultz, of Mifflintown, Greg C. Swab, of Mifflin, Tracey E. Bryner and her husband, Charles, of Port Royal, Jenny S. Swab, of Mifflintown; one brother, William Wagner and his wife, Phyllis, of Port Royal; 11 grandchildren, one step grandchild, seven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
One daughter, Karen R. Swab, one sister, Shirley J. Michael and one son-in-law, Rick Fultz, preceded her in death.
She was a 1958 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal and had attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin.
Dorothy was employed as an Avon Sales Representative for 33 years and she retired from the Juniata County School District as a lunch monitor at Mt. View Elementary School, Mifflin after 23 years of service.
“Doe” enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening; but her greatest joy came from attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Chip Baumgardner officiating. Interment will follow in the Locust Run Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
