Betty Belle Dixon
LEWISTOWN – Betty Belle Dixon, 89, of Lewistown, and formerly of Venice, Fla., passed away on Nov. 25, 2013, at home.
Belle was born and raised in Saxton, a daughter of the late Carl and Reba (Smith) Anderson. She was the widow of Dr. Robert E. Dixon.
Belle is survived by: her five daughters, Carle “Andy” Fones and husband, Scott, of Harrisburg, Rebecca “Becky” Scott and husband, Clifford, of Lewistown, Pamela Castro and husband, Mike, of Reedsville, Mamie Pollock and husband, Gary, of Harrisburg, and Kelley Dixon and husband, Joe, of Reedsville; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.
She loved to play the piano, do crossword puzzles and try out new recipes on her family of picky eaters.
She was an avid golfer and Penn State fan. She played bridge and bowled. She was actively involved in the Lewistown Hospital Women’s Medical Auxiliary, the Lewistown Country Club’s Women’s Auxiliary and the Plantation Golf and Country Club, in Venice, Fla.
She was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother who looked forward to spending time at the Avalon and Stone Harbor beaches every year with her daughters and their families.
She also enjoyed an annual trip to the New Jersey shore, Christmas tree shopping and spontaneous shopping trips with her close group of women friends.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Ellen Evans officiating. Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, in Saxton.
Her family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
