Arlene Marie Wray

McCLURE – Arlene Marie Wray, 90, of Route 522, McClure, and formerly of Mosherville, died at 9:25 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.

Arlene was born Oct. 18, 1923, to George Dewey and Mary Esther (Knepp) Renninger.

She married Gerald Vincent Wray on July 23, 1941 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2000.

Arlene is survived by her sons, Delmar K. and wife, Debbie (Meisner) Wray, Jeffrey N. and wife, Cindy (Gates) Wray, Mark D. and wife, Tracey (Garrison) Wray, Tony C. and wife, Peggy (Root) Wray, all of Gillett, Pa; and Lynn A. and wife, Deb (Underhill) Wray, of McClure; daughters, Janice E. Spangler, of Bear, Del., Rita K. Kuhn, Deborah A. Sherwood and husband, Merrill, of McClure, Fran M. Majestic and husband, Joe, of Adamstown, and Beth M. Eward and husband, Robert, Jr., of Ephrata; 19 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 1 step great-great-grandchild.

She also is survived by her sisters, Betty L. Shawver, of Riverwoods Nursing Home, Lewisburg, Ruth M. Yetter, of Middleburg, Gail D. Dillman, of Berwick, Nancy V. Folk, of McClure, and Judy A. Renninger, of Middleburg, and a brother, Harold G. Renninger, of McClure.

In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a son, Nelson E. Wray; grandsons, Glenn E. (Woody) Minium, Jr., Benjamin O. Eward and Brady E. Wray; sons-in-law, Glenn E. Minium, Sr., William H. Spangler and Donald J. Kuhn, and a brother, Donald E. Renninger.

She had many, many friends who she loved and enjoyed being with. She was a homemaker, a very loving wife and wonderful mother to her children and loved visits from her grandchildren.

She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will never be forgotten. Arlene was a faithful servant of her God, Jehovah, and loved to tell people about him.

She was a member of the Beavertown congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

All are invited to call at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and the family will also receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in Wray’s Family Cemetery in Gillett, Pa.
