Verna M. Nepper
MILTON, Fla. – Verna M. Nepper, 93, formerly of Lewistown, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Sandy Ridge Nursing Home, Milton, Fla.
Born on May 8, 1920, in Alfarata, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Jennie M. (Weiand) Deamer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Alex Krebs, in 1946; second husband, Robert Adams, in 1954; third husband, Kenneth Manley, in 1960; and fourth husband, Gilbert P. Nepper, on March 16, 2004; a step son, Harold Nepper; two brothers; and one sister.
Verna is survived by: daughter, Gale Griffin and husband, John, of Pace, Fla.; step daughter, Catherine Civits and husband, Dennis, of Reedsville; four grandchildren; a number of step great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Aumiller, of Milroy, Phyllis Sipe and husband, Marlin, Letty Lawver and husband, Kenneth, Shirley Freed and husband, Donald, all of McClure and Jay W. Deamer and wife, Donna, of Huntingdon.
She worked at Arrow Shirt Factory in Lewistown, retiring in 1982.
Verna was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Lind Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
