Pauline M. ‘Chub’ Peters

BELLEVILLE – Pauline M. “Chub” Peters, 79, formerly of South Main Street, Lewistown, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born on March 5, 1934, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Paul and Gladys (Bossinger) Reck.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. ‘Pete’ Peters, on Oct. 28, 1999, and a sister, Thelma Turner.

She is survived by: children, Colen R. Peters, of South Portland, Maine, Tracey A. Peters, of Pleasant Gap, and Amy McCahren and husband, Michael, of Port Royal; sister, Sylvia Beaver, of Sanborne, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pauline was a member of Strodes Mills Baptist Church.

Earlier in life she worked at the United Way, and later, volunteered at the United Way.

Pauline loved her family and especially loved spending time with family and friends. She had an unselfish spirit. In the last two years, no matter who she met, she always had a positive comment. She also enjoyed being outside and gardening.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jonathan God officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
