LEWISTOWN – Elizabeth Russell, 94, formerly of Woodland Avenue, Lewistown, entered her eternal home on Oct. 15, 2013.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1918, to the late Charles and Stella (Spiglemyer) Miller.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald “Jack” Russell; a son, Donald Jr.; a daughter, Betty Burger; one granddaughter; and two great- granddaughters.
She is survived by: two daughters, Janet Snyder and husband, Gary, and Cynthia Hamilton and husband, John; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Miller and wife, Mildred.
She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Lewistown High School in 1937. Elizabeth was employed at Murphy’s Five & Dime and later the Lewistown Hospital where she retired in 1978. She then worked at Juniata Valley YMCA. She was a grandmother for the foster grandparent program.
Elizabeth will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a caring, spiritual woman, with a spectacular smile, who could not be kept down. She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc. 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Mr. Murray Laite officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
