John Clark Buckley
LEWISTOWN – John Clark Buckley, 85, of Lewistown, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at his home.
Born on July 26, 1928, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Clark John Buckley and Hazel Alliene (Williams) Buckley.
John graduated from George Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh in 1946 and attended Pennslyvania State College graduating in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry.
After retiring as a forester from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry in 1985 after 32 years of service, he held the position of forest resource planner at the time of his retirement. He was also a licensed professional land surveyor in Pennsylvania since 1958.
John was the last of his immediate family, and was preceded in death by: each parent; his only brother, Ronald Emmett Buckley, who died at age 60 of Lou Gehrig’s disease; and his very close companion of 40 years, Margaret (Peggy Sheets) Cerra, who passed forward in 2002.
John was an avid turkey hunter, wood carver and amateur gunsmith. He also enjoyed restoring antique gasoline engines and making working model steam engines.
There will be no services.
