Ray A. ‘Jum’ Arnold
MIFFLINTOWN-Ray A. “Jum” Arnold, 86, of Mifflintown, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at the Bridges at Brookline.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Nook, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Eva (Whitsel) Arnold.
He is survived by: his wife, Betty (Swartz) Arnold, whom he married Dec. 3, 1945; one son, Dennis R. Arnold and wife, Linda, of Altoona; brother and sister, Stephen Arnold and wife, Margret, and Lona Fultz and husband, Clyde, all of Mifflintown; one granddaughter, Christy Snyder and husband, Stephen; and three great-granddaughters, Kara, Taylor and Loran Snyder.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Larry Arnold.
He had worked at Zendt’s Store, Lauver’s Garage and Excel Homes.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Mifflintown Fire Co.
He enjoyed helping his brother cut and split wood.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin, with Pastor Gay Irwin officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. There will not be a viewing at the church.
