Orville E. Brubaker

RICHFIELD – Orville E. Brubaker, 66, of Richfield, was welcomed into Jesus’s arms while surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1946, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, a son of Orpha (Apple) Brubaker, of Richfield, and the late Jacob Brubaker. On Aug. 26, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Dianna Auker, who survives. They were married for nearly 46 years.

Orville was a 1964 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School.

For 30 years, he was self-employed at his business, Gold Star Industries, Richfield, and had retired in 2010 from Northway Industries, Paxtonville, as a forklift operator.

He was a member of Richfield Mennonite Church and formerly served as its Sunday school superintendent, financial secretary and trustee.

He was a member of Richfield Fire Co. and Richfield Ambulance League.

Orville was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved getting together every Sunday evening with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially engaging in farming and raising beef cattle for friends and family. Earlier in life, he was an avid bowler.

In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Deron and Denise Brubaker, of Richfield, Brad and Brenda Brubaker, of Richfield, and Nathan Brubaker, of Santa Clarita, Calif.; four cherished grandchildren, Amara, Cole, Torrey and Tucker Brubaker; three brothers and their wives, Robert and Sandy Brubaker, of Lancaster, Pastor Dan and Ruth Brubaker, of Hunlock Creek, and Ron and Betty Brubaker, of Selinsgrove; a sister and her husband, Bonnie and Alan Benjamin, of Port Matilda; his mother-in-law, Eunice M. Auker, of Richfield; sister-in-law and her husband, Sandra and Dick Hart, of Thompsontown; and two generations of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his father; a grandson, Gabriel Brubaker; and father-in-law, William R. Auker.

There will be no viewing. A closed-casket visitation will be on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., at Richfield Mennonite Church, Church Street, Richfield, with Pastor Dan Brubaker, brother of Orville, officiating. Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.
