Clifford A. Kirk
MIFFLINTOWN – Clifford A. Kirk, 83, of Mifflintown, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1929, in Milford Township, Juniata County.
He is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Ruth (Zeigler) Kirk, whom he married Oct. 4, 1964; one sister-in-law, Bertha R. Harshbarger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Viola Kirk, and his aunt, Nellie Kirk, who helped to raise him.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a bank examiner for the Pennsylvania Department of Banking.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin, and Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM. He loved animals and he and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to Nova Scotia, Florida and on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at the Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Gay Irwin officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home.
