Virginia M. ‘Din’ Conner

DANVILLE – Virginia M. “Din” Conner, 84, of 246 Hartzler Drive, Belleville, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Burnham, a daughter of the late Russell P. and Ella Mae (Goss) Harshbarger. On Sept. 28, 1946, she married S. Paul Conner, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2004.

She is survived by: children, Ronald P. Conner and wife, Carolyn, of Belleville, and Debra Bulick, of Manassas, Va.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Grace Fultz and husband, Marvin “Gene,” of Belleville.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: son, Russell Lee Conner; son-in-law, Denny Bulick; great-granddaughter, Chloe Bulick Terry; and brother, James R. Harshbarger.

She was employed at the American Viscose Corp. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Belleville. She enjoyed and was good at knitting and gardening.

Din and her family prepared chicken corn soup for the Belleville Fireman’s festival for over 60 years.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Belleville, with Pastor David Pennebaker officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville.
