Mary J. Lose
WALTERBORO, S.C. – Mary J. Lose, 89, of Glenn Street, Walterboro, S.C. and formerly of McClure, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on July 4, 2013, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1923, in Kissimmee, a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Ethel A. (Bowersox) Troup. On May 18, 1941, she married Arthur K. Lose, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2001.
Surviving are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Carl Ewing, of McClure, Judy and Fred Bingaman, of Kentucky, and Kay and Butch Eisenhart, of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Michael Ewing and spouse, Deb, Timothy Ewing and spouse, Tracy, Duane Ewing and spouse, Karen, Susan Oxley and spouse, Brett, Amy Mercer and spouse, Harry, Linda Abell and spouse, Greg, Tammy Laub and spouse, Gerald Jr., Scott Eisenhart and spouse, Tracy; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carmen Travelet, of Florida.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood Troup.
Mary was a graduate of Middleburg High school.
She was previously employed at the Beavertown Silk Mill and also at Middleswarth Chips in Beavertown and later Middleburg.
Mary attended St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Beavertown and later Baker’s United Methodist Church in McClure.
She enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting, sewing, cooking, taking care of her flowers, reading and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with Pastor James Jacobs officiating. Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Beavertown.
