Margaret Catherine Havice
LEWISTOWN – Margaret Catherine Havice, 86, of Lewistown, died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Ohesson Manor in Lewistown.
Born May 31, 1927, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Charles Luther and Elsie M. (Ulsh) Bickhart and wife of the late Richard Merle Havice.
Surviving are: children, Pamela S. (Ide) Dollfuss and husband, Robert, of Brockton, Mass., Lisa K. Socks, of Milroy, Wendy G. McCloskey and husband, Lawrence, of Lewistown, and Louise A. Sandgren, of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Sybill Platz.
She was preceeded in death by two brothers, C. William Bickhart and Joseph A. Bickhart, and one sister, Helen L. Hambright.
She was a 1945 graduate of Lewistown Area High School.
Earlier in life, she did bookkeeping and secretarial work. She and her husband managed the Gray Squirrel Campgrounds in Beavertown.
Margaret was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Milroy and served on the church council, served as secretary/treasurer and taught Sunday School. She had been president of Kish Apartment Residents Association.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Pastor Don Peters officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park in Lewistown.
