Mabel E. Foster

WATSONTOWN – Mabel E. Foster, 90, of Milton, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the Watsontown Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 20, 1923, in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Lepley) Hartley. She married Anthony J. Foster in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2005.

She is survived by: two sons and their spouses, David and Phyllis Foster, of Berwick, and John and Sharon Foster, of Burnham; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Hassenplug, of Milton.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Jane, Martha, Winifred, Kathryn and Patricia, and two brothers, Clarence Jr. and Raymond.

She graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1941. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Milton. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crossword puzzles, but most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

The funeral is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Funeral arrangements will be by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
