June V. Shatzer
LEWISTOWN – June V. Shatzer, 95, formerly of South Grand Street, Lewistown, died at 12:05 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter – William Penn.
Born May 25, 1918, in South Fork, she was the daughter of the late Warren F. and Violet Jane (Paul) George.
June is survived by: her sons, David L. Miller and wife, Joyce, of Yeagertown, and Marc A. Miller and wife, Jane, of Lewistown; stepchildren, Ilene Mitzel, of York, and Martha David, of Heston; grandchildren, Michelle Miller, Shawn Miller and Monique Smouse; stepgrandchildren, Krista Everly, Janette Bartley, Julie Swope; great- grandchildren, Linsay Miller, Kolten Miller and Olivia and Christy Wolfgang; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Kline, of Lewistown.
She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Dolan Miller, in 1975, and Russell E. Shatzer, in 1995; brother, Paul F. George; and sisters, Betty George and Esther Eisenhower.
She was a 1936 graduate of Lewistown High School.
June was employed at Standard Steel, Burnham, American Viscose Corporation and last, in the cafeteria at Lewistown High School.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of a Sunday school class and was very active in many areas of the church for more than 80 years.
Her life was her family.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 428 S. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Kari Swigart officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewisown, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, at the church.
