James W. Hornbaker

McVEYTOWN – James W. Hornbaker, 79, of Deerwood Lane, McVeytown, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his residence.

Born Dec. 10, 1933, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Russell and Ruth (Baer) Hornbaker. He is survived by his wife, Tammy North Hornbaker, whom he married in 1992.

Also surviving are: a son, Jeffrey Hornbaker and wife, Carrie; a daughter, Mackenzie Lusco and husband, Tim; one sister, Betty Holden, of Orbinsonia; and grandchildren, Kate and Nick Hornbaker.

Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and William Hornbaker, and a sister, Pasty Horton.

Early in life, Jim was co-owner of Al & Jim’s Produce, in Garden View, Reedsville. At the end of his career, he was a department manager for Giant Food Stores, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
