Rev. John W. ‘Jack’ Moyle

LEWISBURG – The Rev. John W. “Jack” Moyle, 78, of West Market Street, passed away at 12:29 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.

He was born on April 28, 1935, in Huntingdon, a son of the late Walter and Helen (Lykens) Moyle. On June 6, 1958, he married Kay F. (Stuck) Moyle, who survives; his passing breaks a marital union of 55 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Terri Moyle, of Beaver Springs; one grandson, Heath Moyle; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Sandy Moyle, Richard and Gloria Moyle and Edward and Sandy Moyle, all of Lewistown; two sisters and one brother- in-law, Drucilla and Gerald Eddy and Patricia Grassmyer, both of Lewistown; and one sister-in-law Judy Moyle, of Chicago.

Jack was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Moyle, and one brother, George Moyle.

Jack attended Lewistown area schools. After school, he served in the Army and Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War.

After the service, he became ordained and served for 44 years as the pastor of Three Rivers Union Church, in Beaver Springs.

Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching his grandson’s races and especially loved spending time with his family.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at McClure Union Cemetery with Pastor Harold Sharp officiating.

Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
