Hazel ‘Sis’ Walters
MIFFLINTOWN-Hazel “Sis” Walters, 73, of Mifflintown, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at her home.
Born May 29, 1940, in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Colabine) Richardson.
She is survived by: her husband of 54 years, Larry P. Walters, whom she married Oct. 17, 1959; two children, Larry Walters Jr., of Port Royal, and Lori Rodriguez and husband, Guadalupe, of Thompsontown; one sister, Charlotte Henry, of Honey Grove; five grandchildren, Tiffany Walters, Brandon Walters, Courtney Walters, Nicholas Supplee and Emilia Rodriguez; and three great- grandchildren.
Sis graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1959 and worked at Empire Kosher Poultry for 34 years.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. William Muldoon officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
There will be a viewing held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
