Alice E. Crownover
HUNTINGDON – Alice E. Crownover, 101, of 11643 Stone Creek Road, Huntingdon, died at 8:59 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at her daughter’s home.
She was born Oct. 15, 1911, in Centre Union, to the late Edwin Cherry and Maude Virginia (Rhodes) McDivitt.
She is survived by: her daughter, Edwina Cherry Young and companion, Richard Huffnagle, of Huntingdon; grandchildren, William David McDivitt and wife, Tiffany, and Alice Young and companion, Brandon Dell, all of Huntingdon; and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Morgan, Thomas, Henry and Francis McDivitt and Jaxon and Ryder Dell.
She was preceded in death by: half brothers, Robert and Dave McDivitt and Edward and Ronald Shoff; and half sisters, Carrie Henderson, Susie Decker, Blanche Hoover, Gratchen Jones, Dollie Hatfield, Helene Wilson and Rachel Fridinger.
She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School.
She was taken into the Baptist Church in Centre Union at the age of 11.
She was primarily a homemaker and loved being with children.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, in Huntingdon, with the Rev. Fred Hickok officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call home after 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral.
