James G. ‘Jim’ Miller

WATERLOO – James G. “Jim” Miller, 77, of Waterloo, died at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Born on Dec. 2, 1935, in Lack Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Dwight and Erma (Lions) Miller. His companion of more than 50 years, Irene (Buchanan) Collanbine, of Port Royal, survives.

His only sister, Maxine, preceded him in death.

Mr. Miller was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown, after which he proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 232, Dry Run, and he enjoyed hunting and racing.

In earlier life, he worked as a carpenter before retiring from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery, Waterloo, with the Rev. Karen Willis officiating. The Color Guard of the American Legion Post 232, Dry Run, will accord full military burial honors.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, in the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Waterloo.

All funeral flowers will be provided and memorial donations may be made in Mr. Miller’s memory to the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery Association, c/o Kay Clugston, 95 Clugston Drive, East Waterford, PA 17021.
