Donna J. Pupo
LEWISTOWN – Donna J. Pupo, 82, of South Main Street, Lewistown, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013.
She was born on April 17, 1931, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late George A. and Eva M (Cherry) Lewis. Her husband, Frank E. Pupo, preceded her in death, on April 8, 2001.
Donna is survived by: her loving children, James Pupo, of Doylestown, Marie Pupo, of Los Angeles, Tony Pupo and wife, Sharon, of Lewistown, Scott Pupo and wife, Rhonda, of Lewistown, Carmen Pupo, of Wilkes-Barre, Donna Matthews, of Boalsburg, and Beth Trevisani and husband, Wayne, of Yardley; two brothers, James W. Lewis and Joseph A. Lewis, of Lewistown; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Pupo, of Lewistown; and 13 grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Nicole, Evan, Leah, Marcella, Jaxson, Vinny, Nick, Ryan, Madison, Olivia and Christopher.
Donna was preceded in death by a son, Joseph “Leo” Pupo, and a sister, Francis I. Piper.
Donna was employed by Russell National Bank and Danks Department Store.
She was also an avid seamstress and helped in the shoe repair shop relacing baseball gloves.
She was a 1948 graduate of Lewistown High School. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed knitting, collecting antiques, sewing, gardening, attending auctions, and especially tending her backyard pond and caring for her feathered friends. She was president of the Cobblers Club.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc. 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, with Father William Weary officiating.
Interment will be held in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
A reception will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Rec Park Community Center.
