Ronald A. Hoy
LEWISTOWN – Ronald A. Hoy, 64, died on April 8, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
Ronald was born on May 28, 1948, in Lock Haven, to Robert A. Hoy and Geraldine E. E. (Shope) Hoy. Ronald was reared in Nittany and graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 1967. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Ronald worked for C-Cor Electronics and in February 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War era. He was stationed at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Va., and Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.
After graduating from the Marine Corps basic training, Ronald married his beloved and loving wife, Imagee (Snyder) Hoy, on June 9, 1968, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Snydertown, Howard.
Upon Ronald’s honorable discharge in 1971, he returned to the Centre County area and began employment with Harold Wolfe Farms, in Centre Hall. In 2005, Ronald and Imagee moved to Lewistown, where Ronald began working for McDonald’s in the maintenance area where he had made many friends. He also loved playing bingo at the Burnham Fire Co., Burnham.
Ronald will be dearly missed by: his brother, Robert G. (Judy) Hoy, of McVeytown; sisters, Miriam E. (Royce) Johnson, of Julian, and Carole J. (John)Yearick, of Nittany; his mother-in-law, Luella Snyder, who resides with his wife. He also will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his family and friends, he will be dearly missed by his beloved dogs, Goldie, Sandy and Socks.
He was predeceased by a brother, William E. Hoy, and sister, Annabelle M. Liliedahl.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, with the Rev. Ruth Jensen officiating. Interment will be in Advent Cemetery, Milesburg, with military honors.
Public visitation will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
