Pauline ‘Polly’ Sitkin

ROSLINDALE, Mass. – Pauline “Polly” Sitkin, 83, of Roslindale, Mass., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center.

She was the wife of the late Philip Sitkin, of Lewistown and Pompano Beach, Fla.

Pauline was born on July 27, 1929, in Lancaster, and she was a daughter of the late Albert and Emma Myers.

She graduated from Manheim Township High School.

She spent the majority of her life in Lewistown, where her husband’s family was known for their business, Sitkin Smelting and Refining Inc. She was the president of Haddasah, in Lewistown.

Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Florida, and after his death in 1983, she remained there enjoying her family, friends, her beautiful home, her passion for golf and her fondness for taking visitors to the flea markets and The Bagel Nosh.

In recent years, she lived in the Boston area to be close to her daughter.

She leaves behind a son, Jeffrey Sitkin and his wife, Suzanne, of Cheshire, Conn.; her daughter, Adrienne Brody and husband, Dennis; four grandchildren, Ashley Sitkin, Michael Sitkin, Alexandra Brody and Justin Brody and wife, Lauren; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Eden Brody; brother-in-law, Harry Weisman, of Lancaster; and two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Isenberg, of Harrisburg, and Norma Sitkin, of Philadelphia.

In addition, she is survived by her stepgrandchildren, Jason Brody and wife, Becca, Nina Gardner and husband, Jeff, Lara Shockey and husband, Dan, and Alaina DeCesare and husband Scott, and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her a sister, Anita “Pat” Weisman, of Lancaster, and a stepgrandchild, Adam Brody, of Chestnut Hill, Mass.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Kesher Israel Cemetery Chapel, Harrisburg.
