Paul A. ‘Pickles’ Wagner
MIFFLINTOWN – Paul A. “Pickles” Wagner, 84, of Bridges at Brookline, and formerly of McAlisterville, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Brookline.
Born on Nov. 1, 1928, in Monroe Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Ray E. and Mae (Womer) Wagner.
Surviving are: two sons, P. Richard Wagner and his wife, Teresa, of Harrisburg, and Edward R. Wagner and his wife, Jane, of McAlisterville; and he leaves behind five grandchildren, Dana Wagner and his wife, Torrie, Kristen Robbins and her husband, Ben, Andrew Wagner and his wife, Emily, Daniel Wagner and his wife, Kristy, and Rachel Fisher and her husband, Trent; as well as five great- grandchildren.
Mr. Wagner was a 1946 graduate of Millerstown High School, attended the McAlisterville United Methodist Church, was a former member of the Millerstown Fire Co. and, for many decades, was a former manager/player of the Millerstown Baseball Team in the Perry Juniata Baseball League.
In earlier life, he owned and operated Medico Press, Millerstown, and later retired from David A. Smith Printing, Harrisburg.
Baseball was a lifelong passion, which was clearly evident in his longtime dedication to the Millerstown baseball team; however, his family was his priority, especially his support of his grandchildren’s sporting events.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Michael D. Neimond officiating. Interment will follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.
A viewing will be held from noon until the time of the service Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
