Patti R. Fry
MIFFLINTOWN – Patti R. Fry, 54, of Mifflintown went to meet her best friend, comforter and savior on Saturday night, April 13, 2013, at her home.
She was born Patti R. Bleacher, on Sept. 18, 1958, in Lancaster, to the late Lloyd and Margret (Baker) Bleacher.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother and infant daughter.
Patti is survived by her husband, Harvey, and children, Megan (Fry) Carlson and husband, Steven Fry, and Danelle Fry.
She was a 1976 graduate of Manheim Township High School and a 1980 graduate of Evangel University, formerly Evangel College.
Shortly after graduation, she became a kindergarten teacher at Bethel Christian Academy, in Carlisle. After meeting and marrying Harvey, she became a full-time mother. After moving to Juniata County in 2003, she returned to her passion of teaching by becoming a substitute teacher. She took on the additional job of a Walmart associate all while caring for her family and the people of the community through her volunteer efforts.
During her years in Carlisle, Patti and Harvey headed the food pantry ministries, based out of Bethel Assembly of God. A few years after moving to Juniata County, her caring spirit started looking for another way to reach out to her community. She started attending Newport Assembly of God and got involved with Bread of Life Outreach. She enjoyed volunteering there up to the day she passed.
For this reason, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bread of Life Outreach, in Newport.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Family Life Center, Shortcut Road, Newport. A graveside service will be held in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at David Myers Funeral Home, Newport.
