Mary M. Spicher

BELLEVILLE – Mary M. Spicher, 73, of 4769 state Route 655, Belleville, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the home of her nephew and niece.

Born Feb. 17, 1940, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Mary L. (Peachey) Spicher.

She is survived by her siblings, Verna M. Yoder, of Belleville, and Martha M. King and husband, David, of Belleville, and a number of special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Spicher, and a brother-in-law, Mark R. Yoder.

Mary retired from Valley View Haven, where she worked as a cook for more than 30 years. After retirement, she acted as a caregiver for several members of her immediate family.

She enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Beth-El Mennonite Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also involved with prison ministry.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Beth-El Mennonite Church, with Wesley King, Foster King and Raymond Peachey officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the church.
