Lawrence R. Grimm

MIFFLINTOWN – Lawrence R. Grimm, 106, formerly of Urban, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2013, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

Born Oct. 19, 1906, in Urban, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Susan A. (Schlegal) Grimm. His wife, Gail A. (Giles) Grim, preceded him in death on March 17, 1973.

Surviving are: children, Carol Bohner and husband, William, of Mexico, Pa., Sandra Johnson and husband, Richard, of Mechanicsburg, Harold Grim and wife, Dawn, of Towanda, and Janet Pellegrini and husband, John, of Fairfield; sister, Lena Mauser, of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many great- great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Troutman.

Lawrence retired in 1971 from Columbia Gas Company as a compressor station operator.

He was a 94 year member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Herndon.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Herndon, with the Rev. Thomas R. Degnitz officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the church.
