Donald W. ‘Pete’ Kline

McCLURE – Donald W. “Pete” Kline, 85, of McClure, passed on Monday April 15, 2013, with his family by his bedside, after a courageous battle with MDS.

Pete was born on Oct. 11, 1927, in Beavertown. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 31 years at FMC Viscose plant, in Lewistown, but will most notably be remembered serving ice cream at Kline’s Frozen Delight. He ended his formal working years from A.M.P. in 1985. After retirement, he enjoyed socializing and exercising at the Middlecreek Area Community Center.

He was the son of the late Gertrude (Wetzel) and Carl E. Kline. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley E. (Elsesser) Kline.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Donald Scott, of Harrisburg; two daughters, Mona Fern, of Palmyra, and Nancy (David) Restifo, of Alexandria, Va..; his brother, Carl S. (Allison), of Myerstown; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown. A graveside service will be held in McClure Union Cemetery, with Pastor Donald L. Wise officiating.
