Darwin Daniel ‘Buster’ Brubaker

PORT ROYAL – Darwin Daniel “Buster” Brubaker, 84, of Port Royal, formerly of Mifflintown, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at his home.

Born Dec. 23, 1928, in Van Wert, he was a son of the late Hudson Harrison and Phoebe Ann (Shirk) Brubaker. His wife, Ethel Mae (Graybill) Brubaker, whom he married Feb. 27, 1949, died on Aug. 17, 2012.

He is survived by: four children, Larry Brubaker and wife, Pat, of Port Royal, Peggy Palm, of Mifflintown, Susan Sharp and husband, Willis, of Stoystown, and Steve Brubaker and wife, Denise, of Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Jim, Robin, Curt, Phoebe, Megan, Amanda, John, Doug, Chad, Anthony and Jacob; and seven great-grandchildren, Carson, MacKenzee, Khloe, Addysin, Jakob, Lily and Anna.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Bernice Kauffman, Lester Brubaker, Fern Wert and Paul Brubaker.

Darwin was a chicken and dairy farmer for most of his life and also worked at Bylers Farm Supply and Benner’s Beef Farm, and drove school bus. His family was very important to him.

He was a member of Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Eastern States and Farmers Pride.

He enjoyed hunting, watching birds and wildlife and spending time with his family.

His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Lost Creek Mennonite Church with Pastors Sherman Stoltzfus and Roy Brubaker officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery.

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
