Roy L. Saner
LANSDALE – Roy L. Saner, 94, of Dock Woods Community, Lansdale, passed away Thursday March 21, 2013.
He was the husband of Arlene D. (Reiff) Saner. Roy’s first wife, Esther S. (Book) Saner, died in January of 2000.
Mr. Saner was born on Feb. 28, 1919, in Juniata County, a son of the late John A. and Phoebe (Wert) Saner.
Roy retired in 1981 as sales manager of Sun Electric Corporation, after 35 years of service
Following retirement, Roy and Esther served with Habitat for Humanity in Johns Island, S.C., for five years.
Roy was very active in Grace Bible Church, of Souderton, over the past 26 years, serving on the board of elders, pastoral visiting team, the Steering Committee for Seasoned Citizens and as a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: four children, Dale R. Saner and his wife, Huynh Lam, of Blue Bell, Floyd E. Saner and his wife, Eileen Kelly, of Goshen, Ind., Gary L. Saner and his wife, Janice Abbott, of Hatfield, and Shirley K. Garber and her husband, David, of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ella Sanerof, of Belleville.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Ralph, Clair and Henry Saner, and two sisters, Ruth (Saner) Wortman and Anna (Saner) Stoner.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
