Richard D. Lewis

HARRISBURG – Richard D. Lewis, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, R. Jay Lewis and William R. Lewis.

He is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Doris L. (Ehrenfeld) Lewis; three daughters, Pamela L. Lewis, DeeAnn McHugh and husband, Robert, both of Harrisburg, and Evawn R. McCoy and husband, David, of Seneca, S.C.; his sister, Jeanne Beaver, of Burnham; his brother, Warren L. Lewis, of Marysville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, were he was past chairman of the board for the Postmark Credit Union, past state treasurer for Rural Letter Carriers and past state steward for Rural Letter Carriers.

He was a charter member of the Ridgeway Community Church. He was also a member of the William S. Snyder Lodge No. 756 F&AM and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forrest No. 43.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Ridgeway Community Church, 525 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridgeway Community Church, 525 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17109.
