Mary K. Kathy’ Macknair

Mary K. ‘Kathy” Macknair, 70, formerly of 424 Cornell St., Lewistown, passed away at 5:43 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Golden LivingCenter-William Penn, Lewistown.

Born July 2, 1942, in Omaha, Neb., she was a daugher of the late Paul and Dorothy (Loringer) Hughes.

Kathy is survived by: her daughters, Teri Williams, of Lewistown, Rose Diven and husband, Randy, of McClure, Jennifer Kerr, of Conneticut, and Paula McConahy and husband, Joseph, of McClure; grandchildren, Tiffany Walden and companion, Derrick Gentzel, Joshua Gipe and wife, Megan, Joseph and Justin Gipe, Macayla Walters, Bradee Gipe, Taylor Williams, Aaron and Derick Stricker, Katrina Rauscher, Patrick Kerr and Corrine McConahy; as well as five great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She is also survived by her brothers, Mike Hughes and wife, Jackie, and Jerry Hughes and wife, Judy, and sisters, Joan Reinhardt and Lee Stein and husband, Bob, all of Omaha, Neb.

She is also survivied by many, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Darrell Eckard, of Nebraska; brother, Frank Hughes, of Nebraska; one grandson, who passed away in 1986; and her special companion of 15 years, Jerry Parks, preceded her in death on July 14, 2010.

Kathy was employed at the Giant Food Store for seven years.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting and crafts, as well as her ugly dog, Fee Fee. She had many special friends from across the United States in her Tole Town painting club.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., with Father William Weary officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
