Jeffrey E. Shawver

DANVILLE – Jeffrey E. Shawver, 60, of Route 522, passed away at 5:46 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1952, in Lewistown, a son of Mary (Pheasant) Shawver, of McClure, and the late Eugene R. Shawver. On Sept. 24, 1983, he married Nancy K. (McCarthy) Shawver, who survives.

Mr. Shawver was a 1970 graduate of West Snyder High School.

Jeffrey attended Trinity Lutheran Church, in McClure.

Mr. Shawver served in the Navy during Vietnam from 1972 to 1975.

He was previously employed by the highway department, Poloron Homes, American Viscose, in Lewistown, and the Selinsgrove Center, where he recently retired after 34 and a half years.

Jeffery enjoyed playing softball with teams from Middleburg and Selinsgrove, collecting antiques, and old newspapers and especially loved working with flowers and making crafts from grapevines.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: one sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Frank Stearns, of Dillsburg; aunts and uncles, Mae Wagner, of Beavertown, Dr. Glenn and Evelyn Stumpff, of Selinsgrove, Jay and Hazel Shawver, of Lewistown, and Jim Shawver, of Richfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating, assisted by Pastors Jesse Bingman and Linda Sullivan. Burial with military honors will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.

Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
