Donald E. Switzer
LEWISTOWN – Donald E. Switzer, 80, of Lewistown, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his home.
Born on April 10, 1932, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Maxwell and Lenora E. (Walk) Switzer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Forsythe) Switzer.
Surviving are: wife, Bonnie (Ehrenfeld) Switzer; daughters, Donna J. Kinslow and Deborah Hannon, both of Harrisburg; stepchildren, Lori Wilson and husband, Douglas, of Lewistown, Lonnie Griffith and wife, Diane, of McVeytown, Melissa Stains and husband, James, of Lewistown, and Todd Griffith and wife, Mary, of Coeur De Alene, Idaho; sister, Maxine Boatman and husband, Thomas, of Ponchatoula, La.; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Don was a supervisor at American Viscose, worked at Arrow Shirt Factory and retired from Trinity Packaging in 1995.
He was a Lutheran by faith, served in the U.S. Army, belonged to Shawnee Archers and was a state archery champ in 1960.
Don enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He also enjoyed woodworking.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main Street, Milroy, with Pastor Jan Moody officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the church.
Special services will be provided by VFW Post 7011.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lewistown Home Nursing Agency, Hospice, 129 S. Main St., Suite T, Lewistown, PA 17044, or to a charity of one’s choice.
