Anna E. Zeigler

REEDSVILLE – Anna E. Zeigler, 102, formerly of Yeagertown, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Elmcroft, Reedsville.

Born July 17, 1910, in Taylor, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Agnes (O’Donnell) Wright.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, James M. Zeigler, in 1976; her sons, John J. Zeigler and Roger D. Zeigler; brothers, Paul E. and William J. Wright; and her sisters, Madeline C. Wright, Mary A. Bridge and Patty Wright.

Anna is survived by: her children, Dennis M. Zeigler, of Washington, D.C., and Patti Benton and husband, Thomas, of Denver, Colo.; her daughter-in-law, Holly Zeigler, of Watsontown; grandchildren, David Zeigler, of Oak Park, Ill., Michael Zeigler, of San Antonio, Texas, Jared Benton, of Charlottesville, Va., and Lisa Burgess, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Anna, Patrick and Maggie Zeigler; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

She was a 1933 graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing.

Anna was employed as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Philadelphia, Lewistown Hospital emergency room and then for Dr. Wesley Thompson, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Lewistown, and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with the Rev. William Weary officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna’s memory can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
