Adelene M. DeVecchis
DANVILLE – Adelene M. DeVecchis, 91, of Lewistown, died at 12:53 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 22, 1921, in Shade Valley, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late David P. and Marie (Laird) Crouse.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel G. DeVecchis, on Feb. 6, 2005; her brothers, James, Donald and Paul and an infant brother, Jerome Crouse; her sisters, Betty Arnold, Mary Moore and Patricia Worthy; and great- granddaughter, Hannah McMonigal.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory A. DeVecchis and wife, Judy, of Lewistown, Mark S. DeVecchis and wife, Valarie, of McClure, and Marie DeVecchis, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Lori McMonigal and husband, Mike, Dan DeVecchis and wife, Sabrina, Bobby Lepley and wife, Katie, Emily Shank and husband, Matt, and Sam Lepley; and great- grandchildren, Joseph, David and Noah DeVecchis, Ethan and Daniel McMonigal, Kenneth Shank and Benjamin Lepley.
She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Crouse and wife, Ann, of Shade Valley.
She was a 1939 graduate of Captain Jack Joint High School, Mount Union.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Lewistown, was a former member of the St. Mary’s Guild and the Mifflin-Juniata Art League.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday, March 22, 2013, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with Father John Bateman officiating. Interment will be in Shirleysburg Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Heller- Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
