Robert Lynn ‘Bob’ ‘Ike’ Isenberg
SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Robert “Bob” Lynn “Ike” Isenberg, 67, of 612 Moore St., Huntingdon, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, while on vacation near San Jose, Costa Rica.
Mr. Isenberg was born Sept. 11, 1945, in Huntingdon, a son of the late Robert J. and Irene C. (Conpropst) Isenberg.
He was married to Sharon (Wagner) Isenberg on Oct. 28, 1967, at First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, by the Rev. Norman Marden. She survives at their home.
Also surviving are one daughter, Julie Isenberg- Wedel and husband, Mark, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Cheryl Knight, of New Orleans, La., whom he considered to be like a daughter.
Preceding him in death was a brother, John P. Isenberg.
Mr. Isenberg retired from Standard Steel, Burnham, where he had been employed for more than 20 years. Prior to that, he worked as a supervisor at Harbison-Walker Refractories in Mount Union until its closing.
He was a 1963 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
Mr. Isenberg was a member of the 12th Street United Methodist Church, a member of Trout Unlimited and a life member of the Huntingdon Elks Lodge.
Mr. Isenberg loved to fish and take his daily walk. He will also be remembered as one who loved talking to people.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Laura King officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
