Robert ‘Bob’ J. Notestine

BELLEVILLE – Robert “Bob” J. Notestine, 87, of Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born Dec. 11, 1925, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late James E. and Francelia (Kahley) Notestine

Bob is survived by his wife, Lois (Espigh) Notestine, whom he married on May 16, 1947.

Also surviving are: a sister, Dorothy Leonard, of Ohesson Manor; niece, Susan (Leonard) Clark and husband, Dennis; children, Debra Yoder and Mike; nephew, Thomas Leonard; and other extended nieces and nephews, Todd, Dee Ann, Michael, Deborah, Larry, Joy, Connie, Virginia, Gloria, Bob and Patricia. Bob also had an extended family of great nieces and nephews.

Bob worked in the Mifflin County Veterans Office, Lewistown Trust Company and Department of Revenue.

Bob was a graduate of Lewistown High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, with 20 years of service.

He was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church, Air Force Sergeant Association and former member of Elks No. 663.

Robert’s hobbies included reading, golfing, gardening and traveling.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the chapel of Valley View Haven, Belleville, with the Revs. Robert Zorn and Gerald Peachey officiating.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the chapel.

Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park with military services provided by VFW Post 7011

The family will provide all flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Haven Endowment Fund, 4702 E. Main St., Box 4702, Belleville, PA 17004, or Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St,, Lewistown, PA 17044.

Arrangements are under the care of Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
