Mary S. Shuey

MIFFLINTOWN – Mary S. Shuey, 97, formerly of Pannebaker Avenue, Lewistown, died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Brookline Manor, in Mifflintown.

Born July 14, 1915, in Cocolamus, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Sadie (Varner) Naylor.

She is survived by her children, M. Ruth Hower and husband, Larry, of Mexico, Pa., Jack Shuey Sr. and wife, Carole, and Janet Storm and husband, Thomas, both of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; two great- great-grandsons; and siblings, Grace Slagle, of Liverpool, Mae Reigle and husband, William, of Paxtonville, Charlotte Felmey, of Washington, Ill., Minnie Snyder, of Middleburg, and Beulah Powell, of Selinsgrove.

Mary was preceded in death by a son, Robert Shuey Jr.; grandson, Christopher D’Amato; three sisters, Esther Shelley, Martha Brugger and Margaret Naylor; six brothers, Merrill, Joseph, Robert, Ray, Chester and Irvin Naylor.

Early in life, she worked at American Viscose and later, as a CNA, retiring from Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.

All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Mount Rock Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller- Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
