Glenn A. Kauffman

HONEY GROVE – Glenn A. Kauffman, 83, of Honey Grove, died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home.

Born on May 9, 1929, in Thompsontown, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Christian C. and Verna M. (Strawser) Kauffman. On June 18, 1949, he married his surviving wife, O. Ruth (Berrier) Kauffman, with whom he shared nearly 64 years of marriage.

Surviving are: his children, Kenneth G. Kauffman, Steven R. Kauffman and his wife, Margaret, all of Honey Grove, and Lori A. Yohn and her husband, Edward, of East Waterford; a brother, Donald Kauffman and his wife, Arletta, of Thompsontown; and he leaves behind eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Karen Felmlee, one grandson, Ryan Felmlee and two brothers, Earl Kauffman and Frank Kauffman, preceded him in death.

Glenn attended the South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove.

In earlier life, Glenn worked for the Van Dyke Brickyard, and later was employed by the Susquehanna Labor Union No. 581 for 22 years.

Mr. Kauffman was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting and repairing old clocks as well as attending public sales.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in McCulloch’s Mills Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
