Cheryll Lou Zechman

LEWISTOWN – Cheryll Lou Zechman, 57, of Covered Bridge Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1955, in Lewistown, a daughter of Larry G. and LaVerne L. (Bailey) Freed, of Beaver Springs. On May 4, 1974, she married Larry R. Zechman, who survives.

Cheryll was a 1973 graduate of West Snyder High School.

Mrs. Zechman had been employed at Beavertown Block, Poloron Homes, Snyder County Courthouse and most recently at Playworld Systems, in Lewisburg.

She attended Christ Church, in Beaver Springs, where she was very active as the church pianist, youth group leader, choir director and a leader in the church’s women’s ministry. Cheryll was a very devout member and lived her life for the Lord.

She enjoyed making jewelry, cooking, taking trips to Florida and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathaniel L. and Amy J. Zechman, of Beaver Springs, and Aaron M. and Bethany L. Zechman, of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Owen N., Samantha J., Maya L. and Macie C. Zechman; three brothers and two sisters-in- law, Kim L. and Jane Freed, of Beaver Springs, Scott D. Freed, of Beaver Springs, and Eric B. and Abby Freed, of Beavertown; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Cheryll was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reno and Mildred Bailey, and her paternal grandparents, Meade and Mary Freed.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Christ Church, with Pastor John Poulette officiating. Interment will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.

A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, at the church.

Arrangements are under the care of Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
