William L. Sunday
MILROY – William L. Sunday, 74, of 15 Duck Lane, Milroy, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Sept. 20, 1938, in Milroy, he was a son of the late Harry B. and Clare P. (Staley) Sunday. His wife, Donna J. (Baker) Sunday, whom he married Aug. 7, 1976, survives.
Surviving are: seven stepchildren, Pearl Blanstetter, of Lewistown, Joseph Shafranich, of Port Royal, Rhoda Shafranich, of Lewistown, Rhonda Shafranich, of Baltimore, Steve Shafranich, of Lewistown, Susan Shafranich, of Strodes Mills, and Andrew Shafranich, of McVeytown; 10 stepgrandchildren, Tangela Fultz, of State College, Jackysue Kauffman, of Lewistown, Michael Shafranich, of Lewistown, Luke Shafranich, of Lewistown, Marlin Fultz, of Spring Mills, Travis Shafranich, of Milroy, Andrew Shafranich, of Philadelphia, Matt Kauffman, of Strodes Mills, Nathan Kauffman, of Lewistown, and Adam Shafranich, of Port Royal; 16 stepgreat- grandchildren three sisters, Beverly Gilbert, of Lewistown, Connie Tressler, of Milroy, and Sandy Anderson, of Denver; and 16 nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry W. Sunday and Richard Sunday, and two daughters, Robin J. Newman, on Nov. 23, 2000, and Donna L. Snare, on Sept. 13, 2009.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion, in Milroy.
He worked as a truck driver for more than 50 years, retiring from Dave Kerstetter Trucking.
At his request, there were no services.
Burial was held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
